Introduction

Audi Brussels wanted to share the production of its electric SUV, the e-tron, with a wider audience. Since in-person tours at their Vorst factory are limited, they created a virtual tour, allowing anyone to explore the facility online.

Challenge

The main challenge was designing an intuitive interface for the virtual factory tour that could seamlessly guide users through the complex production process of the Audi e-tron. The design had to present detailed information clearly, ensure smooth navigation across devices, and maintain Audi’s premium brand identity. Additionally, it needed to accommodate interactive features, like 360° visuals and contextual highlights, while remaining accessible to users anywhere, whether at home or on the go.

Solution

The design process emphasized clarity and engagement. We created an intuitive structure that allowed users to easily navigate through the virtual tour, explore 360° visuals, and access detailed production insights. Interactive elements were strategically placed to ensure users always knew what to do next, maintaining a smooth and engaging experience.

To enhance usability, we ensured key content, such as production highlights and navigation tools, remained accessible throughout the tour. This approach made it easy for users to explore the facility at their own pace while staying fully immersed in Audi’s world of innovation.

Execution

We designed an intuitive and visually engaging interface that made it easy for users to navigate the virtual factory tour. High-quality 360° visuals, interactive elements, and clear navigation tools brought Audi’s production process to life. The design was optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring a seamless experience for users everywhere.

Results

The virtual tour opened up Audi Brussels to a global audience, showcasing the advanced production of the e-tron. Visitors could explore exclusive areas like the pre-series center, while the easy-to-use design encouraged exploration and kept them engaged. The project boosted Audi’s online presence and reinforced their reputation as a leader in electric mobility.
